What does it matter to be Petroleum-Free?
Petroleum is a derivative of oil refining. It can create the illusion of hydrated skin by acting as a barrier on top of your skin. This doesn’t allow any hydration to enter or leave. If your lips are already dry, it tricks your skin into thinking it is hydrated and stops any production of natural oil. Once the petroleum wears off, you feel/are dry again because your skin didn’t know it should have been working.
Why is beeswax the best?
Beeswax sinks deep into skin and provides a protection against irritants while still allowing the skin to breathe. It also offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral benefits making it helpful for skin irritation. We only use beeswax from a family-owned company with a USDA Organic rating.
